We know that there are choices when you are shopping for standard truss, so what should you
be looking for?
Here are 10 questions (...and our answers!) that you should consider asking....
1/ Has the engineering been provided by an independent structural engineer with an appropriate stamp for use in the area that the truss will be deployed?
All truss manufactured by Total Structures has a California stamp on the engineering that is provided by a fully independent engineer. All other state stamps can be arranged if required.
2/ Has the truss been manufactured and engineered in accordance with ANSI Standard E1.2-2006 (American National Standard - Entertainment Technology - Design, Manufacture and Use of Aluminum Trusses and Towers). Please also note that if it has, the engineering will include a 15% capacity reduction to account for wear and tear to the product. (Some manufacturers publish the load table without this factor included and suggest only as a footnote that it must be subtracted to conform to ANSI E1.2).
All truss manufactured by Total Structures conforms to E1.2 and the load tables are presented to include the 15% reduction factor.
3/ Where has the truss been manufactured? Many manufacturers have moved their manufacturing outside the US.
Total Structures manufactures its entire product range in California with the exception of Totalite, which is manufactured in Holland by a manufacturing partner.
4/ Do the truss fabricators ALL have American Welding Society certification?
All Total Structures welders are AWS Certified.
5/ Are all materials used in manufacture quality assured with test certificates?
